Spirituality In Aa

Did anyone here find their spirituality in AA?

Alcoholics Anonymous for those who dont know. I came back to the idea of God because of AA. Anyone else have an AA experience?
Dashes in case you werent aware alcoholism is a disease. Youre pretty powerless. If you can overcome great for you. You werent an alcoholic
I’d rather be addicted to God than a practicing alcoholic anyday. You say it like its a bad thing. Wake up, people!!!!

Well I hate to burst your bubble but alcoholism is an addiction and not a disease like AA calims. They must make it a disease to take away any personal responsibility the individual has and to indoctrinate the powerlessness doctrine which is deadly for many. I watched two great uncles and a third cousin die because they couold not grasp the god of AA but believed AA was the only way and the powerlessnes belief they were fed caused them to die.

AA has the same success rate as those who quit on their own, but the death rate is much much higher than those who quit on their own.

There is a huge anti medication faction in AA and uneducated alocoholics are dishing out medical advise and telling people that they know more than the doctors who go to school for ten years and tell their guys to flush anti depressants down the toilet. This happenned to me, my sponsor forced me to flush my medication for my bi polar disorder down the toilet and I nearly became on of the high suicide in AA.

AA is not a theraputic support group but a dangerous religious cult whose members are controlled by the old timers.

Two huge bait and switch tactics AA uses is you can take what you can use and leave the rest and it is god of your understanding. After they feel you are hooked it is you must do everything we say and believe in the god of our understanding or die the death of an alcoholic.

I was kicked out of AA by my sponsor because I was using what I could and leaving the rest, but I have been sobor on my own now 15 years. without AA.

High self esteem and self power is not allowed in AA. I was told many times that I was just the scum of the earth and that I must realize this or die drunk. No wonder the mortality rate is high in AA.

I could go on but I think I have made my point. Even in AA it is the individual that gets and stays sober not the program of AA.

I would add a link but a friend of mine should answer this with facts and figures and links so I will not at this time.

Edit:
At the time of my A attendance I had gone through a divorce and I was a Christian at the time and as a Christian I had huge problem with the spirituality of A. It goes against all the bible teaches. They tell you that god can be a doorknob. I never understood Christianity’s fellowship with AA. The group I attended was very anti Christian and would force any Christians to deny Jesus and declare allegiance to AA and the god of their understanding.

According to the Big Book AA is merely a copy of Christianity but done in a way you do not have to obey the God of the bible thus the god of your or our understanding. Morality as it is described in the bible is absent in AA and the only thing that is important is you are sober and that you are faithful to AA and give AA all the credit.

If it is God who gets and keeps you sober then the churches should be fighting against AA and demanding that their God is worshipped and not a doorknob.
