No fisherman’s boat ever moved that fast. Perhaps,it was a falling star, but this one continued to move back and forth, each time becoming even brighter.Everyone knows that meteorites do not behave in such a fashion. They glow for a short while and then are swallowed up into oblivion. By this time, an un controllable drowsiness overcame me and I forced myself to take the few steps to bed. I thought it must be the result of my long trip as I fell into bed forgetting lights, forgetting Pandayji and everything else.
I probably fell asleep before my head touched the pillow, but suddenly I felt totally awake and full of energy, as though I had been plugged into a revitalizing energizer. I looked around the room and was amazed to find a faint glow. Outside the picture windows was a brilliant light. The logical mind has a way of formulating theories to explain anything. It was obvious to me that I had fallen asleep and was dreaming about a bright light from a helicopter outside my window. And, of course, that was the source of the faint glow in my room. It didn’t occur to me that I couldn’t hear any sounds from a helicopter. But isn’t that the way it is in dreams? Dreams don’t have to be logical.
I was quite convinced that I was having one of those lucid dreams where you seem to be awake, yet, still dreaming. I tried to go along with the program, but still it wouldn’t go away. The light outside became brighter and the faint glow in the room increased in intensity till it was almost as bright as daylight. Then, I heard voices. At first, they were faint and muffled and seemed to come from the sitting room. Now they were getting louder and clearer and I started to understand what was being said.
